Zlatan Ibrahimović to feature in latest film of French Asterix series

zlatan ibrahimovic movie

Zlatan Ibrahimović is now in his film debut trailer for the latest French Asterix movie. Fittingly, he is a Roman conqueror who appears to be celebrating a victory. Football fans would expect no less from the man who once referred to himself as God.

While the striker is best known for his past achievements, he is in fact still playing. Zlatan is part of AC Milan, as he was last season when the Rossoneri won the Scudetto. However, he is more of a leadership player than someone who actually plays. In fact, he has yet to appear for AC Milan in the current campaign. Last season, he made 27 appearances in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. He scored eight goals and assisted on three more.

The Swede, who will soon turn 41, has the profile of someone who can go from sport to screen. Previously, Ibrahimović played for the LA Galaxy, a move that certainly accelerated his popularity in the United States. Although his next film debut is a French play, it is an opportunity to appear on screen. This broadens his horizon for the future, with his playing days ending.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the movie

The film that will have the honor of bringing Zlatan to theaters is Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom. This is the fifth installment in the Asterix and Obelix series. For those unfamiliar with the movies, the Asterix series is a comedy about Gallic warriors fighting against the Roman Empire. It is not historically accurate by any means, although it does take place during the Roman empire.

The film opens in 2023, but the first trailer has got soccer fans interested from the start.

Zlatan Ibrahimović probably won’t play too much of a role in the upcoming film. However, if the trailer is any indication, audiences will at least get some screen time from Sweden’s most recognizable soccer player. A cheeky little lob with a helmet is something of a football skill. Its use to knock down an enemy, less useful in soccer.

However, if any player can pull it off, it would be Zlatan.
