Ziyech has improved, but rebuild means he has to go – Talk Chelsea

Hakim Ziyech to leave Chelsea this window, and for me it shouldn’t even be a debate.

We have just signed three attackers in the form of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke. Our squad is now swollen, especially in attack. We can’t currently register all of them in our Champions League squad, one or two players have to be sacrificed (not physically). We are also potentially signing 1/2 more players in this window.

Until the World Cup, I think almost every Chelsea fan would have said yes to the sale of Ziyech, including the player himself (I still think he wants to leave now). But now, I’ve seen many questioning it after a good World Cup and some decent games for Chelsea. He’s been great at spells of course, but the inconsistencies are still clear to me.

This month we cannot sell Christian Pulisic because he has a long-term injury and no club will buy him. So it has to be Ziyech, I’m afraid. Like I said, I fully appreciate what he brings to the table and when he’s on it, it’s fire. But he’s not close enough for me, and the fact remains that Chelsea need to trim this now bloated squad for many reasons, one being FFP.

I’m also wondering, is anyone asking if he’s in good shape for Chelsea at the moment because maybe he’s playing to get around? It’s just a question, I’m not judging you, and I don’t fully know what’s on your head right now. But he knows that if he plays better he will have more options and options, and more clubs willing to pay his high salaries.

I like the fight he has shown in the last few games and his attitude cannot be questioned in terms of intensity and passion. I have seen it, I recognize it and I applaud it. I will never hold any grudges towards him at all. But I do think it should have been sold in the summer and it should be sold now.

I see no other option than to let him go if we get a half decent offer. I think at this point, he could still walk away with his head held high, so I say all of this with the utmost respect for him.

He’s always been the almost man in his Chelsea career, and yes, maybe a lot of that is because he played out of position sometimes, maybe some of it was the Lukaku drama getting to him, his head would fall off when I wasn’t starting the games. , or many other things. But whatever the reason, Ziyech never quite worked out at Chelsea, and the time is still right for the two to part ways.
