Forward Garant Kuol is one step closer to joining Newcastle United in January.
The Australian international, whose transfer to Newcastle was approved in September, played his last game for the Central Coast Mariners today. Jason Cummings’ two goals helped the Mariners win 2-1.
As you can see in the video below, the 18-year-old was greeted with cheers from the crowd as he left the field and was later embraced by Nick Montgomery and the rest of the coaching staff.

Kuol’s latest performance in Australian rules football appeared to have moved commentators for the Isuzu UTE A-League, who encouraged him to “go and do us proud” at Newcastle.
