Worrying stat for defending champions France heading into World Cup

France was beaten again tonight as Denmark came out ahead 2-0 over the defending World Cup champions.

With the World Cup less than two months away, preparing for the defense of their crown has been as unplanned on and off the field.

Off the pitch, there is the drama surrounding Paul Pogba and his family, while Kylian Mbappe can’t seem to stay out of the news at the moment.

On the pitch, the results have been very worrying and Didier Deschamps’ men have equaled a record with tonight’s defeat.

France’s loss to Denmark was their third in official matches in 2022 (3 times in the UEFA Nations League), which is already their worst record in a calendar year (tied with 1966, 1981, 2008 and 2010).

This is a very worrying form for the defending champions heading into the World Cup in Qatar, where France face Denmark again, along with Australia and Tunisia in the group stage.

Fortunately for France, most of the other top European teams aren’t looking particularly good at the moment either, apart from the Netherlands.

All of this, however, works in favor of tournament favorites Brazil and Argentina, who will be looking to take football’s biggest prize to South America for the first time since 2002.
