Wolves add shock contender to list of potential new managers

Wolves have yet to hire a new coach following the firing of Bruno Lage earlier this month, but their list of candidates is becoming clearer.

The midlands club sacked the Portuguese manager after a poor start to the campaign and hoped to replace him with former Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui, who was their number one target for the vacant Molineux job.

The Spaniard turned down the role for family reasons, talkSPORT reports, and that has prompted Wolves to look elsewhere.

According to talkSPORT, Wolves have now added Peter Bosz to their shortlist and are considered favorites along with QPR manager Michael Beale.

Peter Bosz is being linked with the Wolves job

Bosz has a number of top clubs on his resume over two decades in management, but the Dutchman should be considered a surprising appointment if it comes to fruition.

The 58-year-old has been sacked from his last three jobs and has been unsuccessful in any role since leaving Ajax in 2017, although he hasn’t won anything with the Dutch giants either.

Bosz was sacked by Lyon earlier this month after a poor start to his campaign and it’s not hard to say that if Wolves appoint the Dutch manager, the relegation zone is an area of the table they’ll need to get used to.
