Will Graham Potter be sacked? – Talk Chelsea

It’s fair to say that Graham Potter’s tenure in charge of Chelsea hasn’t reached the heights that were originally hoped for. We’ve been going through something of a merry-go-round with the managers at Stamford Bridge in recent years, and many supporters would be keen to see Potter buck that trend and stay with the club for the foreseeable future.

However, doubts have already been raised among some of the Stamford Bridge faithful, and with good reason. The Blues’ recent form has been nothing short of dismal and has seen them slip to 10th in the table. We are exactly the same points from the relegation zone as we are from fourth place, and qualification for the Champions League seems like a completely unrealistic expectation for this season.

We’re heading into a winless London derby against Spurs in our last five games, and with one of those defeats coming to relegation-threatened Southampton, momentum appears to be at an all time low. It is therefore not surprising to hear that some supporters have raised concerns about Potter’s ability to manage the club.

The 47-year-old had a very positive start to life at Stamford Bridge, with wins over AC Milan, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Aston Villa and Red Bull Salzburg turning heads for all the right reasons. However, one win from our last ten games is simply not good enough for Chelsea, and we’re in for an interesting few months if this slump continues any longer.

Experts in My betting sites have revealed that Potter is priced at 5/4 at Paddy Power to be the next sacked Premier League manager, although it appears to be between former Brighton & Hove Albion boss and West Ham manager David Moyes. Below you will find the odds of Potter being the next manager to depart in the Premier League with other betting sites.

However, he must take the odds of Potter leaving with a pinch of salt, as Moyes’ future could be decided this weekend. It was previously reported that if West Ham lose to Nottingham Forest, then the Scotsman’s time in charge of the Hammers could come to a conclusion.

Potter’s spell at Stamford Bridge has yielded some positives, but recent negatives threaten to tarnish his glittering reputation, which he previously had when he arrived with the Blues. It is very important that we see a rebound in results as soon as possible, starting with a positive result against Spurs, who have been inconsistent at times during this year’s league campaign.

One loss to Spurs, and the writing could potentially be on the wall for Potter, as despite Chelsea’s supposed long-term vision for him, you just can’t keep losing games at a club of our stature. Only time will tell if he is the manager we will need to lead the club into next season.
