Why it would be ‘important’ to sign Amrabat in January

With a much-touted search for Jude Bellingham expected this summer, there may be many Liverpool supporters who also want the club to look for a new midfielder in January and that could well be Sofyan Amrabat.

Thanks to our exclusive interview with Foot Mercato’s Аnas Bakhkhar, Empire of the Kop was told why a move for the Dutch-born man would be beneficial in the winter:

“As Liverpool have a heavy schedule with the Premier League, Champions League and cups, it would be important for them to complete this signing this winter to improve their midfield directly and benefit from Sofyan Amrabat’s dynamic World Cup performances.

“Maybe in six months he won’t be as good as he is now and he won’t show as much assertiveness as now, but maybe if Liverpool take the step this winter, it would be better for Amrabat to seize this opportunity. and show what he can do and maybe in six months he’ll be even better than he is now.

“It could also be a summer transfer because at the moment everything is not closed and the next meetings will arrive in the coming weeks between the agents, the club and the coach Jurgen Klopp, so the moment of the transfer will also depend on them. meetings to see if everyone is on the same page or not”.

It could be a double-edged sword to sign the Moroccan after his impressive World Cup performances, he could well be on the crest of the wave and could immediately transfer his performances from Qatar to Anfield.

However, we have seen with players like El Hadji Diouf in the past that just because you perform well in the biggest tournament in international football doesn’t mean you are a good player.

So the question would be how desperate we are to secure a new player in midfield, with Arthur Melo being the only man currently injured in that position (and expected to recover faster than previously thought) we are not. . really in dire need of a new body.

Although the move may be better for the player, it seems unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will want or need a new midfielder in January, unless we have several injury issues in the coming weeks.
