Who is Juventus looking to consolidate the left-back position?

After dominating Serie A for most of the last decade, Juventus have failed to even finish in the top three in the last two spells.

The first on the list is Alex Grimaldo. Coming from the Barcelona academy, Grimaldo played four seasons in the Barcelona subsidiary.

He failed to break into Barcelona’s first-team setup, joining Portuguese club Benfica in 2016. Here, however, he cemented his place as a starter. Grimaldo has won 3 Primeira Liga titles, 1 Taca de Portugal title, 1 Taca da Liga title and 3 Supertaca Candido de Oliveira titles.

Now his contract will expire at the end of the season. So the 27-year-old left-back will be available for free and is a great option for the Bianconeri.

Grimaldo and Benfica are part of Juventus’ Champions League group. They have already beaten Juventus once this season and will now face them again next week.

Apart from Grimaldo, another of the names that is on the Juventus list is that of Alfonso Pedraza. Coming from the Villarreal academy, Pedraza spent the early part of his career in various loan spells.

Finally, in the 2020/21 season, he established himself in the Villarreal team. Pedraza has already exceeded 100 appearances with the yellow submarines.

He has a big contract with Villarreal that will end in 2026. So in order to acquire him, Juventus will have to pay a good amount of transfer money. But surely the winger can give the Bianconeri squad a good boost.
