What soccer games are coming to Paramount+ in January

January 2023 brings a series of exciting events to Paramount+. While the Champions League doesn’t return until February, the clubs’ constant return to action is enough to whet football fans’ appetites.

For example, the Scottish Premiership already had one of its biggest games of the season. The Old Firm watched a testy 2-2 draw between Rangers and Celtic. Serie A then kicked off its post-World Cup restart with all 20 teams involved on 4 January.

Even though those big games are in the past, there’s a lot to look forward to when 2023 kicks off.

Tuesday January 10: Inter Milan vs. Parma (Italian Cup)

Last season’s Coppa Italia champions Inter Milan rejoin the competition in the round of 16. There, he faces a team that spent many years in the top flight before suffering a major collapse. Parma is still rebuilding to return to the top of Serie A football, and a match at the San Siro has the potential to be a big statement.

Thursday, January 12 – NWSL College Draft

The National Women’s Soccer League has serious arguments to be the best women’s club league in the world. While not necessarily part of the game schedule, Paramount+ is airing the entry draft for the National Women’s Soccer League in January. Croix Bethune and Isabella D’Aquila are two names that are expected to be out soon.

Friday, January 13 – Juventus vs. Napoli (Serie A)

Napoli’s first game in Serie A was against Inter Milan. Going into that game, Napoli were the only unbeaten league team left in Europe. That created a kind of cushion on top of the table. However, that clue is under the microscope when Luciano Spalletti returns to action. Juventus travel to the Deigo Armando Maradona Stadium for what is likely to be a top four clash.

Wednesday January 18: Inter vs. Milan (Italian Super Cup)

Any Derby della Madonnia is worth seeing. Add in the fact that this game is for the first trophy of the Italian season, and there’s an added benefit. Inter and Milan have made a comeback in recent seasons, winning the last two Scudettos and the previous Coppa Italia, so Inter qualified for this game.

Tuesday January 24: Lazio vs. Milan (Serie A)

Serie A is a remarkably close league, and this match proves it. Despite the fact that these two clubs are separated by only six points, one is in second and the other in fifth. A win for one and a loss for the other has massive ramifications at the final table. That makes this game between Lazio and defending Scudetto champions Milan so pivotal.
