In the United States, the channel on which the World Cup is broadcast differs for each match. That said, there are select channels you can trust to carry games.

In addition, the public in the United States has the opportunity to watch games in English or Spanish. In both scenarios, there are only two channels broadcasting all 64 matches of the 2022 World Cup.

You can also access these channels through streaming services. However, in those cases, you have to pay for some kind of subscription service. Peacock Premium, which many fans have for Premier League coverage, has streaming access for all the games in Spanish coverage. That’s $4.99 per month.

What channel is the World Cup on?

In terms of television, English coverage of all the games is on FOX or FS1. FOX is an over-the-air channel, which means all you need is an antenna connected to your TV to watch the games. On the other hand, FS1 requires some kind of subscription. That could be to a cable or satellite provider. Or, streaming platforms like Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV, and YouTube TV have the channel.

The same applies to coverage in Spanish. Telemundo has the vast majority of games available to the Hispanic audience in the United States. However, even though Telemundo, like FOX, is an OTA channel, not all games are available there. In cases where kick-off times overlap, particularly on matchday three of the group stage, Telemundo moves some games to Universo.

Please note: Channels for specific games may change as the World Cup approaches. Both FOX and Telemundo want to put high-quality games on OTA channels. That way, they attract larger audiences. For example, the USA vs. England game on Black Friday is on FOX, not FS1. However, the Qatar vs Senegal match earlier in the day is only on FS1.
