West Ham weighing swoop for colossal £45m record-breaker who’s open to moving

West Ham United are considering signing Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in 2023, according to the latest transfer update from Spain.

David Moyes was seriously backed by the club’s owners in the summer transfer window, completing a series of impressive deals during what was arguably West Ham’s most eventful window in recent memory. However, despite this, West Ham have made a slow start to the season. They sit 18th in the table, having lost 5 of their first 7 Premier League games.

And West Ham are reportedly already looking for solutions in the January transfer market. One name that has been linked to the London club is Yassine Bounou. According to the latest reports, West Ham are considering signing Sevilla goalkeeper Bounou, also known as ‘Bono’, in 2023 to potentially replace current number one Lukasz Fabianski, whose contract expires the same year.

La Razón previously reported that Alphonse Areola has failed to impress Moyes, so he has set his sights on a €50m LaLiga player. And it is that according to the Spanish press (via Sport Witness), it is believed that the Moroccan international would be open to moving next year, but his club would be reluctant to sell him in the middle of the season, and while West Ham ‘considers’ signing Bonus in January or next summer, report claims a summer move would be more ‘feasible’

The report also states that faced with an ‘attractive offer’, the Spanish club are said to be willing to sell for less than Bounou’s €50m (£45m) release clause.

Sevilla’s colossal 1.80m goalkeeper is highly regarded and has already broken the record for the longest time without conceding a goal in the club’s LaLiga history.
