West Ham star still looking to leave the club for personal reasons

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, West Ham defender Craig Dawson still wants to leave West Ham, preferring to move to Wolverhampton to be closer to his family.

The 32-year-old cemented his place in the starting lineup last season following Angelo Ogbonna’s injury and impressed with his performances, which helped West Ham finish a strong Premier League and Conference League campaign.

It is reported that the former WBA star travels daily to train and play football matches and would like to return to the Midlands as soon as possible.

“I think there is real potential for this movement to reignite in the January window. The reason Dawson wanted to leave was for family and personal reasons because she wanted to move closer to his family’s home.

“It is something that is still going to be on his mind and he wants to secure that return to the Midlands. Obviously, that gives the Wolves a huge advantage because they can offer that to Dawson.” – O’Rourke told GiveMeSport.

Dawson almost completed the West Ham exit on deadline day, but at the last minute David Moyes blocked the deal after Kurt Zouma was injured and the summer signing of Nayef Aguerd.
