Juventus attacker Angel di Maria insists they deserved more than their 1-1 draw against Nantes last night.
The Bianconeri are looking to finish this season on a high note despite their many problems off the pitch and they wanted to beat the French club.
However, after Nantes’ equalizer, the black and whites simply couldn’t find a winning goal to secure a first-leg lead.
This means that they have everything to do before the reverse encounter and Di María believes that they deserved a victory.
The Argentine wrote on Instagram:
“We deserved more. We played a great match. Until the end.”
Juve FC says
There’s no need to argue whether we should have won that game or not. What we need to do now is focus on doing much better on the reverse accessory.
If Nantes can get a draw in Turin we can go to France and get a win too, but that would be easier said than done and if we’re as poor as yesterday we won’t win.
Our hosts will have local support which we should have counted on last night and that gives them a significant advantage.
But it could also put them under pressure and we can take advantage of that to win.
