The WBA Championships Committee has ordered a eliminator between number one heavyweight Martin Bakole and the highest available contender Cassius Chaney, who is ranked number 7 in the WBA. The formal communication has been to the teams of both fighters, giving them 30 days to sign the fight contract and fight for the opportunity to become the next WBA mandatory challenger.
In the event that the parties do not reach an agreement, or any of the parties refuses to sign the contract, the Championship Committee may open the fight to auction with a distribution of 50% of the purse.
