Virgil van Dijk bodies Argentina man to the floor before mass brawl

Virgil van Dijk is known for being “as cool as you want” on the soccer field, but an incident during the Netherlands’ quarter-final match against Argentina showed that he certainly has a fiery side as well.

The incident occurred after Leandro Paredes fouled Nathan Ake and then shot the ball at the Dutch players on the bench, our number 4 arrived to remedy the situation by bringing down the man on loan at Juventus.

It started a massive fight between both sides, but it helped show the opposition that the Netherlands captain wasn’t going to let any of his teammates go unprotected and it was a true show of leadership.

Unfortunately for our center midfielder, however, it was not going to be his night as his team was knocked out of the World Cup on penalties.
