Cristiano Ronaldo news: Portugal have been knocked out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They suffered a 1-0 defeat against Morocco in a quarter-final match at Al Thumama Stadium on Saturday. Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the game, making the Altas Lions the first African team to qualify for the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
Fernando Santos left Cristiano Ronaldo out of the game before introducing him as a substitute in the second half. However, he was unable to prevent his team from being eliminated.
The former Manchester United striker has played five games during the tournament, registering one goal. Ronaldo will turn 38 next February. It is unlikely that he will appear at the next FIFA World Cup, which will take place in 2026. However, he could be tempted to play at Euro 2024, which is only 18 months away.

Kohli wrote on Instagram: “No title or trophy can take away from what he has done to this sport and the fans. No title can explain the impact you’ve had on people. and what I and so many around the world feel when we see you play. That is a godsend. You are for me the greatest of all time ”,
Cristiano Ronaldo has also endured a difficult campaign at club level. Manchester United terminated his contract last month after he gave a controversial interview in which he criticized the club’s board and manager Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo made 40 Premier League appearances during his second spell with Manchester United, scoring 19 goals and assisting three more.
The Portuguese international is currently a free agent. Chelsea, Newcastle United and Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr have shown interest in signing him in recent weeks. It is likely that he will make a decision about his future in the next few days.

Argentina will face Croatia at the Lusail Stadium on December 14. While the second semifinal between Morocco and France will meet at the Al Bayt Stadium on December 15.
