Having come out of the tunnel in the second half leading 2-0, fans would have been forgiven for fearing their country would take its foot off the gas.

However, that hasn’t happened with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka sweeping home Phil Foden’s cross just before the hour mark.

At the time of writing, England are winning 3-0 and after France defeated Poland 3-1 earlier in the day, a big European quarter-final match between the Three Lions and Les Bleus is now expected.
