Trent Alexander-Arnold is undoubtedly one of the best fullbacks on the planet in his day, although he has come under heavy criticism lately for his defensive contributions (or lack thereof).
Explaining the value of his defensive teachings, former Manchester United star Gary Neville pointed to two scenarios in the 2022/23 season where the 23-year-old’s efforts had resulted in goals for opposition.
First off, the Monday Night Football pundit noted that Scouser was unable to run back and land a potential lock for Jadon Sancho’s opener at Old Trafford.
Second, against Fulham on the opening day of the season, the right-back apparently missed Aleksandar Mitrovic’s secondary run.
