(Video) Minamino scores first Monaco goal since leaving Liverpool

Takumi Minamino scored his first goal for AS Monaco since leaving Liverpool in the summer.

The Japan international had become a huge favorite among Anfield supporters after helping the Reds win the FA Cup and League Cup last year, finishing as the club’s top scorer in both competitions.

He arrived on Merseyside on a £7m deal from RB Salzburg in 2020 and after spending time on loan at Southampton last year, the 27-year-old was sold to the Ligue 1 side at the end of June.

He has made a total of nine appearances for the southern French team and is now out of place as Monaco defeated Reims 3-0 away from home earlier today.

Minamino scored his team’s second of the day in the 87th minute to secure the victory with a clean finish past the host’s goalkeeper to the delight of traveling fans.

He scored some important goals during his time at Liverpool and we are delighted to see him back with a smile on his face at his new club!
