It’s no secret that a faction of Liverpool fans is strongly opposed to FSG’s continued management of the club amid the club’s struggles on the pitch.
The outright anger is certainly justified in certain respects given the clear failure to address the midfield crisis or take the opportunity of the January transfer window to break the glass and bring about some sort of solution.
The winter window can be a difficult time to make the right decision, of course, and there is a growing sense that Fenway is reluctant to invest while the club remains on the market.
The extent to which this will affect the summer window is up for debate as John Henry and Co. will hardly want to cripple a key asset by not investing late in the season.
Equally, of course, one has to question a lack of risk-taking when a major source of revenue, Champions League qualification, is far from guaranteed as things currently stand.
