Jordan Henderson showed his class after the final whistle in Liverpool’s 3-2 loss to Manchester City as he checked on a rather embattled Kevin De Bruyne.
Both the Belgian international and striker Riyad Mahrez looked exhausted after confirming their place in the next round of the Carabao Cup, and the Reds captain was seen talking rapidly to the playmaker.
There was disappointment for the champions who must now recover in time for their Boxing Day clash with Aston Villa.
