A Liverpool ‘fan’ who is in Qatar supporting England has explained that he would accept the decline of the Reds if it means Gareth Southgate’s side win the World Cup this year.
The fan was asked if he would accept Liverpool not winning a trophy for the next 10 years and surprisingly he replied: “100%… Country over club!”
The Three Lions are looking to win the tournament for the first time since 1966 and are currently drawing 0-0 (at the time of writing) with Wales in their last group game.

Much is made of the relationship many Kopites have with the England national team and this lad’s comments are sure to surprise some of the Anfield team’s supporters.
Jordan Henderson has been named in the starting eleven for the first time during the tournament while Trent Alexander-Arnold has had to settle (once again) for a place on the bench.
