Umbro has launched a reimagined series of jerseys for football fans. The Nations Collection consists of eight shirts that have a creative version of the colors of each country. The collection was launched before the next World Cup in Qatar. More importantly, it includes an alternative to Nike’s much-derided USMNT away jersey.
Umbro USA Away Kit – A better alternative for USMNT fans?
In the collection that includes soccer heavyweights Brazil, France, and Germany, among others, the United States also has a jersey in the collection. Umbro’s USA away kit design features a light blue collarless jersey, which includes red and white triangles covering the design. Outside of the ominous eagle shield design across the chest, this jersey certainly looks better than some of the official Nike designs for the USMNT.
Speaking of crests, each jersey features a bespoke badge on the left chest. These designs essentially reinvent the emblem of each country. Three lions are sewn into the England jerseys, the USA jersey has an eagle, and so on.
Inspired by players rather than Nike “designers”
“These shirts were designed by us, but they were inspired by many players, many moments and all the fans around the world,” said Helen Hope, Umbro’s global brand marketing director. “A fitting tribute to the legends of past glories and the importance of this competition.”
One of England’s shirts draws inspiration from their famous aquamarine third kit from 1990. Undoubtedly a favorite of Three Lions fans, the shirt consists of a light blue base with a geometric design running all over it. A dark blue collar enhances the beautiful design.

Perhaps the other standout from the collection is the Brazil jersey. Undeniably similar to their classic 1994 home jersey, the jersey features a bold yellow jersey with subtle monochrome detailing. The green collar and number 22 on the back also add a nice touch.
Along with Brazil, England and the USA, Umbro also created jerseys for France, Germany, Mexico, Poland and Spain. Soccer balls and matching sweatshirts complete the entire collection.
