LAS VEGAS, NV – The UFC today announced the launch of its month-long Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, presented by BODYARMOR. The UFC will commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) by recognizing UFC athletes and fans who represent the US Hispanic and Latino communities, as well as other Spanish-speaking countries around the world. the world. The UFC will also celebrate Hispanic and Latino culture and how it has played an important role in the UFC, MMA and combat sports in general.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, the UFC will highlight the personal stories of Hispanic and Latino fighters, past and present, and their impact on the UFC through its “One Voice, Many Stories” campaign. The UFC will also offer a special-themed jersey, with 100% of the proceeds from sales benefiting the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. The jersey is now available at UFCStore.com.
The UFC will also commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month with special branding during its broadcasts (“UFC Celebrates HHM”), as well as with athlete reports and vignettes.
Additionally, in collaboration with ESPN, a two-part special produced by the UFC featuring some of the biggest Latino names in MMA will be shown as part of ESPN’s Hispanic Heritage Month themed lineup.
The episodes, UFC Ultimate Knockouts: Hispanic Heritage Month (Part I & II), will air Thursday, September 29 at 10 pm ET on ESPN2 and Thursday, October 6 at 8 pm ET on ESPN2. The shows will also air on ESPN Deportes on Thursday, September 29 at 8 pm ET and Saturday, October 1 at 5 pm ET.
