Tyson Fury Warns Joshua: “I’m Not Extending” The Deadline

By Charles Brun: Tyson Fury says he won’t extend today’s 5:00 pm deadline until tomorrow or later to get Anthony Joshua signed for the Dec. 3 fight.

Fury’s public ultimatum suggests he’s not excited about fighting Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) next and is using this as an excuse to evade him. If Fury really wanted the Joshua fight, he wouldn’t set a deadline, which he knows AJ has no chance of meeting.

Fury is believed to love Manuel Charr. That’s the easy mark for Fury to take on Dec. 3 because he’s not going to take a beating like he will against Joshua.

Once Fury defeats Charr, he will fight IBF/WBA/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk in February or March in a 50-50 fight. Fury’s chances of beating Usyk are greatly increased if he isn’t shaken by a war against Joshua on December 3.

Therefore, Fury is looking to get out of the AJ fight by setting an arbitrary deadline. Yes, he is totally pathetic, but he shows the Fury mindset for all to see.

He just wants to prevent Joshua from hitting him because he wants the superficial achievement of becoming the undisputed champion by beating the much smaller Usyk.

“Guys, bodybuilder [Anthony Joshua], today is the deadline. Get your lawyers, your managers and everyone who thinks for you to sign that contract.

“I am not going to extend until Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, a week on Tuesday. Today is a deadline. If it’s not signed, I’m not going tomorrow.

“I just got off the phone with Frank Warren. I’m not going until tomorrow. Sign it, bitch, sign it,” Fury said.

So there it is. Fury says that he will not extend the deadline for Joshua to sign the contract. Of course, Fury isn’t extending the deadline for AJ because he clearly doesn’t want that fight because it’s bad news for him.

Really, Fury doesn’t want to be ripped apart by Joshua and be one of the walking wounded heading into a battle against Usyk. To beat a fighter like Usyk, you have to be healthy in body and mind, and Fury will only be halfway through after a war with Joshua.

All of those tricks that Fury uses in terms of leaning, grappling, and rabbit punching won’t work against Joshua because he has the size to get the best of him in those areas.
