Tyson Fury Says Joe Joyce “wouldn’t Land One Punch On Me”

By Jack Tiernan: Tyson Fury was impressed with Joe Joyce’s performance after watching him score an 11th-round knockout of gym mate Joseph Parker last Saturday night at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Fury says that as good as Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) looked last night against Parker (30-3, 21 KOs), he wouldn’t be able to land his punches. Tyson feels defending him would be too good for the slower punches thrown by the 6’6″, 271-pound Joyce.

Boxing fans would like to see Fury prove his theory that Joyce couldn’t fall on him by singing to fight him. They don’t want to see Fury fighting Manuel Charr if he can’t make the Dec. 3 fight with Anthony Joshua.

That said, Joyce landed well against Parker, who has faster hand speed, hits harder, and is more mobile than Fury.

If Joyce was able to land his shots against Parker, it stands to reason he would have the same success against Fury because he’s not as quick as the New Zealander.

“He wouldn’t give me a single punch in 12 rounds. I don’t think he can hit me with a fucking handful of rice,” Tyson Fury told FrankWarren_TV of Joe Joyce.

“He is a big man, but I am bigger. He is heavy, but I am heavier. He is a good fighter, but I am the best in the world for a reason,” Fury said.

The 271lb Joyce is actually heavier than the 264lb Fury, and it throws more punches, hits harder, has a better motor and superior shock resistance.

In many ways, Joyce is a better fighter than Fury, and she is more capable of beating Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua than he is.

“From a fabulous standpoint, it was a very entertaining fight,” Fury said of Joyce’s clash with Parker. “Both men did extremely well. Fair play for Joe Joyce. He put out a very strong game, a very strong and fit Joseph Parker, and he got into the top five because of that, in my opinion.

“I think he [Joyce] defeat Joshua; I think he beats the middle [Oleksandr Usyk]. I may have a problem with Wilder’s speed and power, and I don’t think I can lace up my boots.

“I was very impressed. He was big and strong and brave,” Fury said.
