By Charles Brun: Tyson Fury took to social media today to let Anthony Joshua know that he has until 5:00 pm to sign the contract to fight him on December 3, or he’ll move on.
If Fury is serious about his 5 pm deadline, it means he could already have a deal in place for his Plan B opponent, Manuel Charr, for Dec. 3.
Eddie Hearn thinks Charr is the guy Fury has always wanted. Look at it this way. Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) has a very tough fight ahead of him in February or March against IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
If Fury is still licking his wounds from a Dec. 3 battle against Joshua, he won’t be 100% for the Usyk fight and will end up getting beaten.
But if Fury picks a gimme opponent in Charr, he can win that fight without even getting a scratch, and he’ll be ready to face Usyk in early 2023 without being half dazed like he would be if he were fighting Joshua.
Whether AJ wins or loses against Fury, he will get his pound of meat out of that fight. If Fury thought it was wrong to get knocked down four times in his three fights with Deontay Wilder, it will be just as wrong to fight Joshua because he is going to beat him too.
“Today is D-Day, people. Are you going to sign the contract, you big queer, or are you not going to sign it? Tyson Fury said on social media while sending a message to Anthony Joshua.
“When Wilder sent me the Wilder 1 contract, I signed it within 24 hours because I wanted to break his face. You’ve had the contract for ten days, bitch, and you haven’t signed it yet. Fury said.
“If it’s not signed by 5pm today, GK moves on,” Fury said.
Tyson is going to look silly if Joshua isn’t already signed by 5 pm If this is just a hoax on Fury’s part, the fans aren’t going to trust him. They’re going to see Fury as just a big troll, saying things to get the attention of the fans and the media.
If Fury chooses to go ahead as he says, you have to respect him because he will walk away from a mountain of dough. It would also be a sign of weakness because he will probably be facing Charr.
