Tyson Fury Gives Anthony Joshua Deadline Of Monday To Sign Contract

By Charles Brun: Tyson Fury says he will move on if Anthony Joshua doesn’t sign a contract for a Dec. 3 fight by Monday.

In an interview with BT Sport on Youtube, which has now been deleted, WBC heavyweight champion Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) is giving Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) a strict ultimatum on Monday for you to sign your contract.

There’s little chance Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, will be ready to sign the contract before Fury’s silly deadline on Monday. So instead of Fury getting the fight from Joshua in December, he will end up with a scrub.

Considering the video of Fury setting a Monday deadline has now been removed, one wonders who made the decision to remove it.

After all, it totally backfires on Fury’s part to set a deadline because it’s the biggest money fight available to him. If he doesn’t fight Joshua, he will likely face Manuel Charr, 37, and few want to see that trash fight.

“I was optimistic about three weeks, but it shouldn’t take that long to sign a contract,” Fury told BT Sport. “We’ll know by Monday anyway because if it’s not done by Monday, I’m going to move on.”

As you can see, Fury is stretching his A-side position to the limit. If you’re Joshua, you’d be better off telling Fury to get lost and instead fight Deontay Wilder next. That would be a great fight with no silly deadlines or ultimatums for negotiations.

“I’m not waiting for a guy who has lost three of his last five fights,” Fury said.

It was Fury who hounded Joshua night and day on social media for a December, not the other way around. The way Fury talks, he acts like it’s Joshua who’s begging for a fight and not the other way around.

“I hate to say it, but those two knockdowns Deontay Wilder scored in their trilogy fight last October may have twisted Fury’s senses because now he’s got things twisted.

“He’s lucky I’m giving him a world title shot, but I don’t mind throwing him a bone,” Fury said.

“He’s a guest at my party, my rules, so if you want to play the game, come to the banquet and have a seat,” Fury said.
