Two Offensive Weapons Set To Return For The Detroit Lions

Two offensive weapons ready to return for the Detroit Lions – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Detroit Lions running back D’Andre Swift and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown will return this week against the Miami Dolphins.

Swift has been out since the fourth week. She has been nursing ankle and shoulder injuries. The latter is the more pressing of the two injuries.

The Lions have a useful veteran backup in Jamaal Williams, but he’s not the player that D’Andre Swift is. He is an elite pass catcher and quarterback Jared Goff needs him every time he controls him. Swift is so good when he has the ball in his hands and makes this offense more explosive.

Swift has averaged more than four yards per carry in her career and has averaged nearly nine yards per carry this year. The Lions will welcome him with open arms.

Head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism in his availability this week.

Detroit also needs its No. 1 wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown, to come back and produce. St. Brown himself has also dealt with injuries so far this year.

He has been hampered by an ankle injury in recent weeks and was seen to have overcome the injury. However, in last Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, St. Brown was ruled out of the game with a concussion but didn’t have one.

To the team, St. Brown appeared to be inhibited by the hit he took and quickly ruled him out of the game.

St. Brown is scheduled to return this week. She is following updated concussion protocols and has practiced on a limited basis this week.

He has been consistent as she goes through this offense being Jared Goff’s favorite target. St. Brown entered the scene in the second half of last year. He is one of the best young wide receivers in the league.

The Detroit Lions will face the Miami Dolphins this week. The Lions need these offensive weapons to keep up with Miami’s offense.
