Trevoh Chalobah linked with Stamford Bridge exit

Chelsea news: Blues defender Trevoh Chalobah has been linked with a move away from the club.

Chalobah joined the Blues youth academy aged eight in 2007. He worked through the club’s youth ranks to make his professional debut for the club during the 2018-19 season.

The 23-year-old defender had a long first-team career last season due to injuries to several key players. He played 20 league games last season, scoring three goals.

However, the London outfit tightened up their defensive line over the summer, pushing Chalobah down the pecking order. He managed to play just one game in the Premier League this term.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Trevoh Chalobah could leave Chelsea during the January transfer window. The former England international is not happy with his role at Stamford Bridge.

Chalobah has also been linked with a move away from the club during the summer window. Inter Milan, AC Milan and RB Leipzig have also shown interest in signing him. But the Blues decided not to sell it.

The 23-year-old defender signed a new contract with Chelsea last November, which runs until 2026. Graham Potter is likely to demand a hefty transfer fee to sell him mid-season.

Chelsea tried to hijack Richarlison’s transfer

In another report, Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea tried to hijack Richarlison’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur. The Brazilian international joined Spurs for £60m during the recently concluded transfer window.

The Blues submitted an offer to sign the winger the night before his medical with Tottenham. However, Richarlison had his mind set on joining Spurs and rejected an approach from the Blues.

While speaking to the media recently, the Brazilian international revealed the reason he joined Tottenham. He said (via Metro): “I was on holiday in Brazil when I heard Tottenham had made Everton an offer. I was happy because they are a great team. Then it was about getting the clubs to negotiate a deal and luckily it all worked out.

Antonie Conte called me during the negotiations and told me how much she would like to have me on board, that was vital for my decision.

The 25-year-old attacker started life in London brilliantly, registering two goals and two assists in eight appearances in all competitions for the club so far. His form will be key for Spurs as they look to finish in the UEFA Champions League qualifying spots this season.
