Tottenham Hotspur are eager to bring in two Serie A stars to compete for the English Premier League title. Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici is keen to do business with his native team.
But the former Juve employee wants to sign an experienced player who did well under Antonio Conte. Inter Milan defender De Vrij is one of the top names on Tottenham’s wish list.
Spurs are also monitoring Sassulo’s Davide Frattesi, who is also a subject of interest for both Brighton and Manchester United. The north London club are following the midfielder’s progress before the transfer window opens. But new Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is also keen to meet his former player.
All Fabio Paratici’s Serie A signings are doing remarkably well in North London. Kulusevski, Romero, Bentancur and Perisic are good examples. The latest addition to Serie A may be Inter Milan’s Stefan De Vrij.
De Vrij’s situation at Inter Milan
The Dutch international is one of the best defenders in Italy and could leave Inter due to his contractual situation. The 30-year-old’s contract expires next summer and he has no intention of prolonging his stay in Italy.
Due to the financial struggle, Inter are keen to cash in on the sale of the defender in January. Tottenham Hotspur would take advantage of this opportunity to get hold of him. De Vrij was a regular for Conte at Inter.
According to Football Insider, Conte is a big fan of him and wants to work with him again. The former Lazio defender will bring great value to the Tottenham defence.
Conte’s team is struggling in the Champions League as they are giving away goals for defensive errors. The Football Insider claims that Inter will ask for just £10m for the defender. This will be a bargain for the Premier League team.
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Davide Frattesi
But Tottenham Hotspur are out for another Serie A player. Reports from Italy suggest Tottenham are monitoring the 23-year-old ‘super-talented’ midfielder’s progress ahead of the window’s opening. The player is believed to have a valuation of €30m.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are looking for his signature. Journalist O’Rourke revealed to GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure it’s someone who’s on his radar and they’re watching him. They have had success in the past signing players from Italy, so it has been a successful avenue for Tottenham in the transfer window in the last two seasons.
Tottenham Hotspur is putting together his team to compete at the highest level and they see Antonio Conte as the perfect candidate to achieve it. They are currently in third place in the League table and are also fighting hard to qualify for the next round of the Champions League.
