Three positive signs from Juve-Empoli (Opinion) -Juvefc.com

On Friday night, Juventus enjoyed their most charming win of the campaign so far as they dismantled Empoli with four unanswered goals. The Bianconeri got a great result along with an exciting performance from start to finish.

Unfortunately, this victory had a bittersweet taste, as after 15 official matches in all competitions, it is absurd to consider a home win over Empoli as our most satisfying result of the campaign so far.

Better late than never, though, and Friday’s performance presents us with some positive signs, suggesting that the Old Lady might finally be on the right track.

So here are three encouraging takeaways from the Bianconeri’s 4-0 victory over their visiting Tuscans.

90 and beyond

Since the previous campaign, Juventus has had a recurring trend; The team rarely PLAYS for more than 30 minutes. In fact, Max Allegri’s men have only been showing what looks like a football brand for a short period of between 15 and 20 minutes in some of the most recent outings.

Interestingly, the Bianconeri dominated Empoli for almost the entire match. Moise Kean scored early and Adrien Rabiot finished the defeat with a fourth goal in added time, as the team had a number of chances throughout the match, in what looked like an uncharacteristic display from Allegri’s men.

Whether the problem is physical or mental, or maybe a combination of both, let’s hope the tech staff has actually managed to find a solution to this damn problem.

not only dusan

First of all, let’s make something clear: we love Dusan Vlahovic as much as the next one (as long as the next one doesn’t support Fiorentina). However, relying on a single player to score the goals isn’t exactly a great recipe for success.

In recent weeks, the media has overemphasized the strong connection between the Old Lady’s victories and the Serb’s goals.

So it was refreshing to see a freely scoring Juventus team not relying heavily on the young striker’s goals.

Instead, the goals came from Kean, Weston McKennie and Adrien Rabiot, the very players most of us wanted to leave out of the starting lineup after some poor performances.

While we will surely turn to Vlahovic in our darkest hours, seeing others contribute to goals is a welcome sign.

Team spirit

Since last weekend’s exit at the Derby della Mole, we have witnessed a completely different body language from the Juventus stars, with less frustrated figures and more spirit among the players.

Every member of the team, whether on the pitch or on the bench, celebrated the four goals as if they were their own.

This is the kind of spirit that has been missing during the first stretch of the campaign.

The dismantling of Empoli therefore offers a glimmer of hope for a team still aiming to resurrect what began as a dismal season.
