‘They can have their pick’ – Donovan Brothers will fight ANY Irish fighter across three weights

paddy donovan [9(6)-0] He has almost called out all the fighters in three divisions for both himself and his brother Edward Donovan. [4(1)-0].

The Top Rank star notified all domestic fighters between 140 and 154 pounds, stating that any of the Donovan brothers would be more than willing to trade leather with them.

‘The Real Deal’, who populates the same welterweight class as his brother ‘The Dominator’, recently set his sights on a junior world title, but speaking to Irish-boxing.com late last week, he revealed his will. to find a rival closer to home.

The Andy Lee-trained southpaw also suggested that fellow former underage standout Edward Donovan, whom he believes Irish fighters deliberately don’t mention, has a similar approach and said he would fight any Irish fighter at and around his weight. .

“Any welterweight, any light welterweight, any super welterweight that wants to fight in Ireland we will fight them,” Donovan said.

“That’s as big a statement as you’re going to get and it goes for me and him. We are both willing to fight any of those weights in Ireland.

“If any fighter in Ireland thinks he has a good career, he thinks he has a good platform and people behind him, if he is posting on Instagram, Snapchat or Facebook that he wants to fight me and my brother will accept any of his challenges. . They can choose me or him.”

The wide-ranging call throws up a number of intriguing potential matches. Dylan Moran, with whom Paddy Donovan has shared words, is covered in the three-weight fight call, as is Kieran Molloy, a former ‘Real Deal’ foe. Exciting emerging talent Peirce O’Leary is another one at one of the three weights and a fight between the Dub and either of the Limerick brothers would grab attention. A two-brother battle header with McKenna’s Aaron and Stevie would also be a big sell. More established fighters like Tyrone McKenna and Sean McComb are two more who operate within three weights, as do Caoimhin Agyarko, Paul Ryan, Callum Walsh and even Spike O’Sullivan.

It should be noted that Donovan did not drop any names, but was keen to let it be known that no challenge would be turned down.

Paddy Donovan was last seen in action defeating Tom Hill on the undercard of Michael Conlan’s last night fight in Belfast.

He revealed that he hopes to secure a spot on the Tyson Fury undercard against Anthony Joshua if it happens. If that doesn’t pan out, he’d like Dylan Moran on the Conlan Boxing card in December.

Andy [Lee] I texted Top Rank to try and get on the Tyson Fury – Joshua card. If not on that I heard Conlan Boxing is putting on a show in Ireland if Dyland Moran wants to fight on that I will fight him on that or any welterweight.
