While Antonio Cassano is obviously not a fan of Massimiliano Allegri, another of Calcio’s most notorious bad boys apparently has a fondness for his former strategist.
Between January 2013 and August 2014, Mario Balotelli enjoyed a decent spell in Milan, which turned out to be his last successful stint on the big stage before finally embarking on a journeyman career.
The former Inter and Manchester City striker was under Allegri’s tutelage until the latter’s dismissal, and still appreciates his former manager’s qualities both on and off the pitch.
At a time when the current Juventus manager is receiving heavy criticism due to the club’s uninspiring performances at the start of the campaign, Balotelli wishes there were more people like Allegri in football, a sentiment with which many people they certainly do not agree.
“Max Allegri is a great coach and a great person,” the newly signed Sion center forward said in an interview with DAZN via Calciomercato.
“I found myself very well in Milan with him. He understands a lot about football and gets into the minds of his players.
“I don’t know how he’s doing at the moment because I don’t follow him much, but there should be thousands like him in training,” the controversial star said.
