The Wizards vs. Pistons Game Tonight Has Been Postponed

The Detroit Pistons’ home game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday has been postponed as the team remains stuck in Dallas due to severe weather.

The Pistons will be stuck in Dallas until at least Wednesday morning. This means that they would only return home a few hours before the Washington game starts, at the earliest.

The Pistons were originally scheduled to leave Dallas following their 111-105 loss to the Mavs on Monday. Other “logistical” and weather problems caused another delay on Tuesday. The Pistons and Wizards are scheduled to be off Thursday night, so the league could push the game back 24 hours.

That being said, both teams play back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, so it’s possible the game could be postponed to avoid a back-to-back situation.

Washington ranks ninth in the Eastern Conference at 24-26. This matchup raises potential playoff implications. The Wizards are likely looking forward to scheduling a reconciliation against the Pistons. Detroit, however, has the worst record in the East at 13-39.

Detroit has been unlucky with injuries, with star guard Cade Cunningham sitting out the entire season after undergoing shin surgery. They’ve had collaborators like rookie first-round pick Jaden Ivey and Killian Hayes to carry the load in their absence. Detroit is one of the teams projected to have the number one overall pick according to Michigan sportsbooks.

The Washington Wizards have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA. They have talent around the team like Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis. They just can’t seem to get back to health at the right time. Beal just returned from a hamstring injury. Porzingis has been out with an ankle injury. The Wizards currently have +240 to make the playoffs according to NBA betting sites.
