The Toons close to signing Loris Karius

Newcastle United news: The Tyneside club are in talks to sign former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius on a free transfer.

Big things were expected of Karius when he joined the Reds in the summer window of 2016. However, he struggled to make his mark at Anfield, playing just 29 league games for the Reds.

The former Germany youth international made two terrible mistakes during the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2018. The game more or less ended his Reds career and he was unable to feature in a competitive game for the club after it’s.

The Merseysiders loaned him out to Besiktas and Union Berlin respectively, before allowing him to run out of contract this summer.
