Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz has turned his attention from his desperate dream of a rematch against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, which he failed to secure, towards a fight against Ryan Garcia in April.
Cruz (25-2-1, 17 KOs) insists that Ryan and his promoters want the fight, but Ryan’s manager, Lupe Valencia, doesn’t want it due to her lack of trust in him. Pitbull, 25, says Valencia wants an “easy fight” for him.
Some believe Pitbull has intentionally faced weak opposition over the past two years, hoping and hoping that Tank Davis will bless him with a rematch.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and Cruz has been around for two years now. The only thing he has to show for the time he has been waiting are victories over Yuriorkis Gamboa, 40, Eduardo Ramírez and Juan Cabrera. The fight with Cabrera was last July and Pitbull narrowly won, overcoming a twelve-round split decision.
From ‘Tank’ to ‘King Ry’: a change of focus
Cruz has been hoping for a rematch with Tank Davis since his narrow 12-round unanimous decision loss in December 2021. However, Tank has shown no interest in fighting Pitbull Cruz again, which is understandable because he hasn’t done anything with his career since then. he defeats to make it marketable.
It can be argued that Cruz’s management’s decision to put him against easy opposition to keep him on track for a rematch with Gervonta has backfired because he hasn’t faced A-level opposition and hasn’t been overly active. What Pitbull Cruz needed to do is the following:
Stay active, fighting three or four times a year Face quality opposition Be active on social media Give interviews Fight in the US.
Unfinished business with Ryan García
“This video is to clarify my next game in April. I would like to fight Ryan Garcia,” Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz told Fight Hub TV. “I want to emphasize that both Ryan and I want the fight.
“Our managers agree and our promoters also agree. Everyone also agrees that this is a great fight. The only reason this fight is not happening and negotiations are not over is because of Lupe Valencia.
“They have not accepted that this is carried out. Both Ryan and I are ready and focused for the fight. The reason Guadalupe Valencia doesn’t want this fight is because she trusts her fighter and is looking for an easy fight.
“I’m here to bring problems to your career. For everyone, Isaac Cruz is ready to beat him in the ring,” Cruz said.
