The most interesting stats leading to Juventus-Lazio: Clash of super defenses

Tonight, Juventus and Lazio will close the curtain on matchday 15 of Serie A, colliding heads in the last league game of 2022.

The club’s official website provided us with the most interesting statistics and data prior to the match at the Allianz Stadium.

In their last 35 meetings against the Eagles, the Bianconeri have emerged victorious 25 times, registering eight draws and just two defeats, from October 2017 (under Massimiliano Allegri) and December 2019 (against current Lazio manager, Maurizio Sarri).

Since the draw between Antonio Conte and Vladimir Petkovic in November 2012, the Old Lady have always managed to find the back of the net against the Biancocelesti, scoring 37 goals in their last 19 meetings.

This will be an interesting battle between two of the best defenses in Europe (at least according to the statistics). Juventus have recorded five clean sheets in a row in their recent games, while Lazio have not conceded a goal in their last four away games.

Both teams have amassed nine clean sheets in Serie A so far, trailing only Barcelona (11) in Europe’s top five leagues.

In addition, the Catalans also lead the table with the fewest goals conceded in the major leagues with only five, while Juventus (7) and Lazio (8) complete the podium.

Finally, Leonardo Bonucci has played against the team from the capital more than any other club. In his 25 games against Lazio, he scored three goals (including a penalty double last season), making them his favorite target.
