Despite some positive injury news lately, Liverpool are still set to travel to Italy for our first Champions League group game, without eight players injured.
These are: Caoimhin Kelleher, Ibou Konate, Calvin Ramsay, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones and Fabio Carvalho.
If there were more reasons for Jurgen Klopp to strengthen his options in midfield this summer, then seeing five players who can play in midfield injured is an obvious example.

We’re still very early in the campaign, but with three of the players affected by fitness issues in our last two games, it really feels like one step forward and two steps back at the moment.
Given the decision to exclude our No. 8 and No. 15 from the group stage teams for Europe, it shows that their problems are quite serious.
Hopefully the rest will prepare for a return sooner rather than later, and the international break seems to provide a welcome break for the club’s doctors.
Fingers crossed that these issues go away as the season progresses and we don’t see this roster getting any bigger than the 10 absent players we had a couple of weeks ago.
