5. San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants (2002/03)
Our first game on the list came during the 2002/03 season, when the 49ers pulled off what seemed like an impossible comeback against the New York Giants in San Francisco.
The Giants took full control of the game for the first three quarters and enjoyed a healthy 38-14 lead as the game entered the late stages of the third quarter, however the 24-point gap wasn’t enough to stop the Giants. 49ers, who mounted a comeback. that no one would have seen coming.
Jeff Garcia pitched for the game of his life in the final minutes of the third and throughout the fourth quarter as the 49ers quarterback helped his team to 25 unanswered points against the Giants to give San Francisco a lead from 39-38 points at the end of the final. fourth part.
Even though the Giants built a 24-point lead in just over a quarter, they still had a chance to win the game late on, as they attempted to set up a 41-yard field goal with seconds ticking. Unfortunately for the Giants, the snap was fumbled and the game was over, with the 49ers advancing after an insurmountable comeback.
4. Arizona Cardinals vs. Green Bay Packers (2009/10)
The most recent game on our list came in the 2009/10 season, when the Green Bay Packers took on the Arizona Cardinals in what remains the highest scoring game in playoff history.
Throughout the game there were 13 touchdowns scored, as well as more than 1,000 yards gained by both sides in what was one of the greatest NFL games of all time.
Despite a 31-10 Cardinals lead in the fourth quarter, the Packers were able to level the game again to send the game into overtime with a masterclass from Aaron Rodgers spearheading the Packers attack.
Rodgers threw for an interception early in the game, however he more than made up for his error as the game continued, with the QB throwing for 400 yards and four touchdowns in a classic performance.
Rodgers’ masterclass wasn’t enough to seal the victory for the Packers, however, as Karlos Dansby caught a quarterback fumble in overtime, scoring a TD to hand the game over to the Cardinals who won 51- Four. Five.
3. Tennessee Titans vs. Buffalo Bills – (1999/00)
The game between the Titans and Bills in 2000 later came to be called the “Miracle of Music City” as Tennessee pulled a miracle out of the bag with just seconds left to win the game.
With the score 16-15 to Buffalo and seconds ticking off in the fourth quarter, the Titans were all but out of the playoffs with all hope lost. With just one miracle enough to save the Titans, Kevin Dyson came up.
Dyson ran the ball from the start to score one of the most unlikely touchdowns of all time and seal the victory for the Titans and while many believe the play should have been reviewed, the refs ruled Dyson’s lateral pass did not go forward. and the play was legal.
The play would later be dubbed by Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher the “home run throwback,” in a move he said was a training camp routine carried out to perfection.
2. San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers – (1998/99)
Just missing the top spot on our list is the 49ers vs. Packers game in 1999, with San Francisco topping the game with a crazy finish.
The Packers had knocked San Francisco out of the playoffs three straight seasons before ’99, so it was surely time for the 49ers to get their revenge on Green Bay.
The game was a showcase of QB greatness throughout, with Steve Young and Brett Favre displaying a shooting masterclass throughout the game that set it at 27-23 for the Packers with just two minutes to play in the fourth quarter. .
Facing loss to Green Bay once again wasn’t an option for the 49ers this time, however, as on the final play of the series Young managed to thread the eye of a needle to find Terrell Owens for a 25 TD. yards, sealing a 30-27 victory for the 49ers in their revenge season over the Packers.
1. Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Oilers – (1993/94)

Going into the third quarter, all seemed lost for the Bills, who had a 32-point deficit to close as they trailed 35-3 in what appeared to be an embarrassing performance by Buffalo.
Frank Reich was a backup QB for the Bills at the time and was lucky to earn a start after Jim Kelly was injured the week before. Reich played a vital role in one of the greatest comeback stories of all time, as the Bills scored 28 unanswered points in the third quarter to bring the game back to 35-31.
Buffalo was able to score first in the fourth quarter and carried a 38-35 lead until the final minutes of the game, but their hearts were temporarily broken when The Oilers sent the game into overtime with the score at 38 apiece.
