Manchester United news: Jadon Sancho was one of Europe’s most promising attackers during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

His performances at Signal Iduna Park earned him a move to English giants Manchester United in 2021. However, he failed to live up to his expectations at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old attacker has recorded just five goals and three assists in 36 Premier League games so far. He also lost his place in the England squad and he is likely to be included in the World Cup squad.

The Red Devils came from behind to record a 3-2 victory against Cypriot club Omonia FC in a UEFA Europa League group stage match on Thursday.

However, Erik ten Hag is not happy with the performances of Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia during the game. The Dutchman withdrew from the pair at the break.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said: “The width on the left side, for me, was not good in the first half. The movement from behind the defense line. So I was hoping that with Luke and Marcus we would get more of an effect out of that and, in my opinion, that happens.

It’s hard not to imagine that the decision to remove both players wasn’t in some way retribution for their role in goal, especially in Sancho’s case.

The Red Devils keep an eye on Alessandro Bastoni

According to football.london, Manchester United are in competition with Chelsea to sign Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni. They will be looking to sign him next summer, as his current contract at San Siro is due to expire in 2023.

Bastoni is one of the most talented defenders in Serie A. He has made 96 league appearances for the Nerazzurri so far, scoring three goals. The Italy international has helped the Milan team win a league title, a SuperCoppa Italiana and a Coppa Italia. He was part of the 2020-21 Serie A Team of the Season.
