“I’m probably looking at Liverpool and thinking ‘I’m going straight, I’d play every game.’
“I think I would choose Liverpool. I don’t think Real Madrid will go for him, he has enough coverage in that position. I don’t think they spend a lot of money on it.
“They might even want me to go to Liverpool and they get it later, after four or five years.”
We certainly won’t underestimate the appeal of the Real Madrid project, any more than Julian Ward will, but it would be equally silly for some to assume that Bellingham is out of the question as a potential signing for us.
After landing some stellar deals in the market over the years, we’re fully confident that our recruiting team will find the right signing or two next year to take our midfield in a new direction.
