Stojkovic explains how Juventus is slowing down VlahovicJuvefc.com

Serbian national team coach Dragan Stojković insists Juventus are slowing down Dusan Vlahovic’s performance and explains how.

The striker was one of the deadliest in Serie A while playing for Fiorentina before securing a big-money move to Allianz Stadium earlier this year.

His goals partially dried up in the second half of last campaign after he moved to Juve and he has yet to replicate the form he showed with La Viola.

Juve have some of the best midfielders in Serie A in their squad, but Vlahovic doesn’t get enough serves to deliver the goals the club needs.

Stojković is convinced that the problem is the players behind the leader. He says via Corriere Dello Sport:

“Juve is a different team than the one I knew, less strong in defense, also because it is poorly protected by a midfield that has little intensity and it is too difficult for it to verticalise”.

He adds: “In this way, Vlahovic is holding back on his best feature, which is attacking depth with his sprinter’s shot.”

Juve FC says

Vlahovic has done well in our books, but we must admit that he can do better.

Every player wants to join a big club to improve, but Juve have not provided the right environment for the Serb to thrive.
