Stat: Bruno Fernandes tops assists chart since Premier League debut – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United crushed league leaders Arsenal in an incredible match last night to lift the team to fifth place in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag seems to have already found the starting eleven that works with him after going through multiple options during pre-season and the first games of the season.

One player who was criticized over and over again last season was Bruno Fernandes, with many fans worrying about the midfielder’s lack of goals and assists.

However, so far this season, it seems that the Portuguese star has returned to his old self under the new manager despite not playing a free role.

It was clear the attacking midfielder was enjoying himself against Arsenal after causing real problems for the defense and playing a pivotal role in Man United’s second goal to regain the lead.

An OptaJoe tweet shows the stats of the Premier League players who have assisted goals from open play since their debut in February 2020.

“23 – Bruno Fernandes has assisted 23 goals in open play in the Premier League, the most by any player in the competition since his debut (1 February 2020):”

They are followed by Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah with 22 goals, with Harry Kane and Gabriel Jesus with 21 and 18 respectively.

It is clear that United’s main man is making a huge impact on this team and has been an important player since his debut.

Being the player who has assisted the most goals since his debut is also quite an achievement considering the success of some of the other players in the league.

Although it has been a rough ride in recent months, the performances are starting to pick up, especially since being handed the captaincy while Harry Maguire serves off the bench.

United fans are hoping the club’s trophy drought can end this season with a team good enough to compete in cup competitions already in place.
