Ronaldo has now revealed that he plans to continue playing for Portugal beyond the end of the 2022 World Cup. He said he also wants to be a part of EURO 2024, insisting his “road is not over yet”.

Ronaldo also emphasized that he still feels motivated and his ambitions remain high.

“It has been a long road, but I would like to take the opportunity to say that my road is not over yet. I feel motivated, my ambition is high. I am in the National Team with many young players and I want to be part of this World Cup and the 2024 European Championship as well, I guess now,” Ronaldo said.

CR7’s struggles on the pitch in the 22/23 season

Ronaldo’s statement comes amid his struggles on the pitch at Manchester United this season. The Portuguese superstar has not had the best of starts to the 22/23 season.

He has appeared in all eight of Man Utd’s games so far this season, but has only scored one goal for the club. Ronaldo had gone goalless in his first seven games for Manchester United this season before ending the scoring drought in the eighth game.

Ronaldo, despite appearing in eight games, has only made it to the starting eleven three times, the rest being appearances from the bench. One of Ronaldo’s three starts was in the Premier League and the other two in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo was linked with a move away from Man Utd in the summer transfer window. Reports said the Portuguese had asked Man Utd to allow him to leave if they received a suitable offer.

Ronaldo reportedly wanted to play in the Champions League which Man Utd failed to qualify for this season after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season. Ronaldo ended up staying at Man Utd, with the player unable to secure a departure from the club.
