Spezia fans caught hurling racist insults towards Kostic

Yesterday Juventus earned a routine away win over Spezia thanks to goals from Moise Kean and Angel Di Maria. But while the action on the field was forgettable, to say the least, what followed in the stands was significantly uglier.

In the final stage of the match, Max Allegri replaced Filip Kostic in favor of Samuel Iling-Junior. While he was going to the bench, the Serbian had to pass by the Spezia ultras who took the opportunity to hurl insults at him, according to JuventusNews24.

Furthermore, some racist words were caught on camera as the source reveals, with some people referring to the extreme as a gypsy, a derogatory term used as a racial slur against people from the Balkan region.

The report wonders how the FIGC will act on this, in the hope that the organization will inflict a befitting punishment for this degenerate act.

Juve FC says

Due to the new substitution rule, players are now often forced to cross hostile territory before reaching the safety of their bench.

But that’s not the main issue here, as such horrible acts can never be justified under any circumstances, as there’s a big difference between the usual playful banter against opposition players and racial abuse.

Severe punishments are the only solution to solve this plague.
