South Korea manager resigns after impressive World Cup campaign

South Korea coach Paulo Bento resigned after his team’s 4-1 loss to Brazil in the World Cup round of 16.

However, you can walk away with your head held high, as South Korea oversaw a victorious campaign and went further than they probably imagined when they teamed up with Portugal, Uruguay and Ghana.

In the group stage, they collected a win, a draw and a loss. The win came against Euro 2016 winners Portugal, and they held off five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo to a lackluster performance.

It was the first time they had advanced to the round of 16 in 12 years.
