Speaking to the media, he said, “I can only apologize to our fans for not living up to their expectations. We did our best, but I think we played a very difficult game. Still, there is no doubt that all the players fought with pride, gave themselves and worked hard to get this far.”

Richarlison has been in excellent form this FIFA World Cup. He has registered three goals in three appearances so far. The Brazilian is among the leading contenders to win the Golden Boot at the FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old attacker joined Tottenham Hotspur from Everton during last summer’s transfer window. He has struggled to get going at the club, not scoring a single goal in 10 Premier League appearances for the London side. However, a good World Cup campaign with Brazil will give him enormous confidence in the future.
