Sky Sports man excited as Liverpool eye ‘Zaha-esque’ signing

After experiencing a truly impressive World Cup campaign for Ghana, Mohammed Kudus looks set for a big move this January.

The Ajax striker was undoubtedly one of his country’s most influential players during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and although Ghana fell in the group stage, Kudus did not damage his reputation.

Indeed, after what were three really decent performances for Ghana, Kudus is already being linked to a number of Premier League clubs and one of them being Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Speaking to Football Insider about the possibility of the Reds signing Kudus, former goalkeeper turned Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson compared the 22-year-old to Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha and believes he would be a hit at Anfield.

“Kudus is a first-class player,” Robinson said.

“He’s raw and he’s very talented. If you listen to him and read some of his phrases, he thinks he’s better than Neymar. In fairness to him, he kind of backed up those quotes with the way he played.

“I am impressed with him at Ajax. He is direct, he can score and he is versatile. You can play anywhere on the front line. Jurgen Klopp likes players like that.

“He also has experience in the Champions League. I think it would be a great addition to any room.

“Liverpool have a lot of quality in that area but Kudus would give them something more. Do you know who I would compare it to? Zaha at Palace, it’s not much different.”
