Should Pogba give up his Juventus salary until he can play?

Paul Pogba joined Juventus as a free agent in the summer but has yet to appear in competitive play for the Bianconeri since returning to the club.

The Frenchman started his career at Juve and is one of the club’s legends, having helped them dominate Italian football before leaving for Manchester United in 2016.

Injuries plagued his final months at United, but Juve thought it would be prudent for them to move for him when he became a free agent.

The midfielder has been prone to injury and will miss the first half of the season while still receiving around €8m per season in salary.

A report by Il Bianconero asks him to give up his salary as Fernando Redondo and Mario Mandzukic did at AC Milan.

Juve FC says

When the players sign agreements with the clubs, the latter have signed to continue paying them their salary even if they do not play.

For this reason, Pogba does not have to give up his salary.

However, he might decide to be nice and forego part of his salary until he can play for us again.

But this decision is entirely up to him, and he doesn’t have to do it if he doesn’t feel like doing it.
